“I CAN” TRI-ATHLON

FOR KIDS WITH DIFFERENT ABILITIES

WHO: Children ages 4-14 with different abilities
WHAT: An adapted triathlon (assistance as needed)
WHEN: Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 11:30 to 1:00 (line up begins at 10:30)
WHERE: Swim – Troy Aquatic Park                Bike/Tryke – Hobart Arena Parking Lot                Run/Walk/Walker/Gait Trainer/Roll – Troy High School Memorial Stadium
WHY: Proceeds benefit Miamibucs, a non-profit organization that provides Amtrykes
for children and adults with disabilities who live in Miami County

$25 per participant – Includes a T-shirt for the participant and each volunteer, a medal, and a goodie bag.

  • Race course is adapted to each participant’s abilities
  • 2 volunteers are required for each participant (may be provided by the participant or by race coordinators). To assist your child and 2 volunteers, a race day buddy will also be assigned to guide you from the beginning of the race to the finish line.
  • Participation with assistance is possible for ALL abilities!
  • In need of a tryke?  Contact us! We have a limited number and sizes of trial trykes available for use

I Can “Tri”athlon 2019

Miamibucs is gearing up for the fourth annual “I Can Tri” for 2019. This adapted triathlon designed for children ages 4-14 with different abilities will be held at the Troy Aquatic Park on July 21, 2019. The race will start at 11:30, immediately following the Troy Kids Triathlon. Participants will complete a lap in the pool, bike or tryke in the Hobart Arena parking lot, and then finish with a lap of
running/walking/gait training around the Troy High School Memorial Stadium. The race course is adapted to meet the needs of each participant, and 2
volunteers are required to help meet the needs of each participant. Volunteers and trykes will be available for those in need, and a doctor will be on premises during the event.
The cost is $25 per participant, which includes a goodie bag and T-shirts for the participant and volunteers. Proceeds for the “I Can Tri” benefit Miamibucs, a non-profit organization that provides Amtrykes for children and adults with disabilities who live in Miami County.
